The Historic Sites and Enrichment Destinations Committee monitors on the ground developments in Medina sites

The Committee of Islamic Historical Sites and Enrichment Destinations, emanating from the Committee for the Program for Serving the Guests of God (one of the executive programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030), made a field visit today to the Islamic historical sites, monuments, and enrichment sites in Medina, to assess the condition of the sites and their level of readiness, led by His Excellency the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, accompanied by Their Highnesses and Excellencies members of the committee, with the aim of following up on developments and achievements related to the completion of projects to develop Islamic historical sites and archaeological destinations.
The visit, which was organized by the Heritage Authority with the support of the Medina Region Development Authority, included; Al-Ghumama Mosque, Al-Saqya Mosque, the mosques of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and Omar bin Al-Khattab - may God be pleased with them -  , the Bani Anif Mosque, Ghars Well, one of the most important prophetic wells, and the palaces of Urwa bin Al-Zubair, in addition to the railway station.
Dr. Al-Rabiah confirmed that the visit comes as a translation of the directives of the wise leadership, which attaches utmost importance to the rehabilitation of Islamic sites and monuments in Medina, linked to the honorable biography of the Prophet, explaining that the committee team monitored the visitors’ experience following the launch of the first phase of the eight qualified sites, to address any challenges that the beneficiaries may face. and service providers, in addition to monitoring the progress of current projects to rehabilitate and activate sites such as the Faqir’s Well, in order to achieve the goal of inaugurating more than 100 historical sites and enrichment destinations for visitors to Thebes.
It is noteworthy that the members of the committee participating in the tour are His Excellency the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture Hamid Fayez, Her Highness Princess Haifa bint Mohammed bin Saud, Deputy Minister of Tourism, His Excellency the Secretary of the Holy Capital, Saleh Al-Turki, His Excellency the CEO of the Medina Region Development Authority, Engineer Fahd Al-Balaihishi, and the Governor of the Holy City. The General Authority of Endowments, Imad Al-Kharashi, the CEO of the Guests of God Service Program, Muhammad Ismail, and the advisor to the Secretary of the King Abdulaziz Palace, Ayman Al-Hanihani.
