The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has allocated dedicated routes for older people and persons with disabilities inside the Grand Mosque, to facilitate the performance of acts of worship and provide a safe and comfortable environment that enhances reassurance and tranquility, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims.
The authority noted that these routes have been carefully distributed in strategic locations to ease movement and reduce the hardship these groups may face when entering and exiting or moving between the different levels of the Grand Mosque.
It noted that allocating these routes falls within an integrated system of services designed to address the needs of the elderly and persons with disabilities and to ensure smooth access to various facilities, reflecting the leadership’s keenness to serve those heading to the Grand Mosque in accordance with the highest humanitarian and service standards.
The authority called on all visitors and Umrah performers to use the spatial guidance guide at the Grand Mosque, which shows the locations of routes, elevators, and supporting services, helping worshippers and Umrah performers navigate with ease and convenience, especially during peak times.
