Saudi Railways "SAR" announced the success of its operational plan for the Haramain Express Train during the Hajj season of 1444 AH, as the number of passengers via the Haramain Express Train reached more than 750 thousand passengers, an increase of 96% compared to the same period last year.
SAR confirmed that the number of trips conducted during the Hajj season for the current year amounted to 3,627 trips, an increase of 79% over the Hajj season last year, and the trips of the Haramain Express train had continued at an increasing pace, reaching an average of 126 trips at peak times, in light of the high demand for it. In order to serve the guests of God, SAR has provided additional trips, bringing the number of trips on the seventh day of Dhu al-Hijjah to 131 trips, which is the highest number of trips in the history of the Haramain Express Train in one day, of which 60 trips departed from Makkah Al-Mukarramah Station, an average of 6 trips. Flights depart from the station at one hour, and the Haramain Express train exceeds the number of trips scheduled for the Hajj season, which amount to 3,400 trips, with an additional 227 trips.
The Haramain Express train transported pilgrims and travelers between Mecca and Medina, passing through Jeddah Main Station, King Abdulaziz International Airport Station, and King Abdullah Economic City Station, with a commitment rate of flight arrival times reaching 98%, which contributed to providing wider options for smooth movement of passengers, and choosing... The Executive Vice President of the Haramain Express Train and the Holy Sites Train in the Saudi Railways, Engineer Rayan Al-Harbi, explained that the implementation of the operational plan for the Haramain Express Train for the Hajj season was carried out according to an approved mechanism in coordination with the Saudi-Spanish Train Project Company, which operates the Haramain Express Train, and the relevant government agencies, according to An integrated plan of action aimed at facilitating the pilgrims’ journeys to and from the Two Holy Mosques in all safety and comfort.
