03 Aug 2023

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, had the honor yesterday of washing the Holy Kaaba. Upon his arrival at the Grand Mosque, he was received by the General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sudais, and a number of officials. Immediately upon his arrival, he washed the Holy Kaaba from the inside with Zamzam water mixed with rose water, by massaging the wall of the Holy Kaaba from the inside with pieces of cloth moistened with the mixture, which had been prepared early on by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

After that, the Deputy Emir of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region performed the two rak’ahs of Tawaf.

Participating with him in washing the Holy Kaaba were the General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, and the custodians of the Holy House of God. Dr. Al-Sudais stressed the keenness of the wise leadership to take care of the Two Holy Mosques, and said: “The Kingdom, since its unification at the hands of the founder, King Abdulaziz, and his righteous sons after him, up to the prosperous and auspicious era of the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his trustworthy Crown Prince, have striven to Care and attention to everything related to the issues of Islam and Muslims, especially the Two Holy Mosques and the Holy Kaaba.” He added: “Caring for the Holy Kaaba is only a characteristic of the leaders of this blessed country, and glorifying it and caring for it is part of glorifying the sacred Islamic rituals. God Almighty said, “This is the case, and whoever honors the rituals of God, it is from the piety of hearts,” as it is a tradition followed by the honorable companions - may God be pleased with them - and the caliphs after them throughout the history of this glorious nation. May its leaders receive the best reward for their great services to the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
