Medina obtained the gold level in achieving the “Sustainable Development Goal Cities (SDG Cities)” program, granted by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (Habitat), as it is the first Saudi city to achieve this achievement, and the first in the Arab world and the third globally in completing the second phase out of 3. The Medina Region Development Authority obtained the silver certificate for the program in the first quarter of last year (2023). This achievement confirms the achievement of Medina’s pioneering position in the field of localization of sustainable development goals at the international and local levels, which is in line with Medina’s smart, centered strategy.
