The Ministry of Information is organizing the in-person marathon days of the Hajj and Umrah Mediathon - one of the projects of the Government Communication Center at the Ministry of Information - in cooperation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the Program for Serving the Guests of God, during the period from 23 - 25 Shawwal, corresponding to 2 - 4 May 2024, at the King Fahd Library. National in Riyadh.
The number of teams registered on the electronic portal exceeded 1,300 teams from various regions of the Kingdom, including citizens and residents, and more than 30 teams qualified to compete in three tracks: creative content creation, languages ​​and translation, and the media services and facilities track, to create media initiatives and projects that enhance professional coverage. ‎
The marathon days consist of “Knowledge Day,” “Preparation Day,” and “Marathon Day,” where more than 25 expert and specialist guides provide a group of guidance sessions in the fields of: media and communication, innovation and entrepreneurship, technology, Hajj and Umrah, and law. .
Mediathon events offer more than 15 dialogue sessions, enrichment presentations, and workshops with the participation of more than 20 speakers. Ideas are also evaluated by members of a specialized jury in the fields of media, communication, entrepreneurship, and innovation.‎
In its edition this year, the Hajj and Umrah Mediathon targets the participation of the media and institutional communication sectors in government agencies, various media outlets, professional media companies and institutions, universities and academic institutions, and bodies specialized in Hajj and Umrah, in addition to the participation of individuals, including workers and practitioners in the media field, and those working in the fields of Hajj and Umrah. Hajj and Umrah, academics from media, communication and marketing colleges and departments and their students, programmers and those interested and specialized in technology, citizens and residents.
It is noteworthy that all days and events of the marathon will be broadcast live on the “Saudi Now” channel, the digital platforms of the media system, and the Hajj and Umrah system, from four to nine in the evening.
