Smart Mobility System Enhances Movement at the Two Holy Mosques

03 Mar 2026

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque continues to enhance mobility services within the two holy mosques through an integrated system of electric carts and manual wheelchairs. The initiative aims to ease movement and improve comfort for worshippers, particularly the elderly and persons with disabilities, while facilitating the performance of religious rituals.

The authority has provided approximately 400 electric carts to facilitate the movement of worshippers and pilgrims at the Grand Mosque, especially during peak seasons, ensuring safety and smooth flow.

It has also enabled electronic booking of electric carts through a unified mobility platform, organizing usage, reducing waiting times, and improving the overall user experience.

In addition, more than 6,000 manual carts have been deployed throughout the Grand Mosque and its courtyards to ensure easy and orderly movement, particularly during peak periods such as Ramadan and Hajj.

The authority affirmed that mobility services form part of an integrated system aimed at enhancing worshippers' experience, reflecting the Kingdom’s continued care for the two holy mosques and their visitors.
