His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, met with both the President of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Pakistan, Khaqan Murtaza, and His Excellency the Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation Affairs of the Republic of Bangladesh, Mahboob Ali, in the presence of air transport specialists and CEOs of air carriers, during the visit of the Saudi delegation. During the meetings, ways were discussed to further facilitate procedures to increase the seat capacity available for transporting the guests of God, in addition to examining the best solutions to overcome any current and future challenges, in addition to reviewing aspects of joint cooperation and providing more facilities to air carriers.
On the sidelines of the meetings, His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation signed an agreement to provide air transport services with his Pakistani counterpart, which aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of air services, bilateral cooperation, and establish regulatory frameworks for air transport movement between the two countries in a safe and orderly manner, in addition to Signing a memorandum of understanding with His Excellency the Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Republic of Bangladesh, Mahbub Ali, in the field of air transport, aiming to increase the number of flights between the two countries; To secure a larger seat capacity and facilitate the arrival of the pilgrims to the Kingdom while increasing air cargo flights.
The agreement comes within the objectives of the aviation sector strategy aimed at building international partnerships and signing new bilateral agreements that will support the ambitious goals of the strategy that aim to enhance the Kingdom’s air connectivity with the world to 250 destinations, triple the number of passengers to reach 330 million passengers, and increase air cargo capacity to reach 330 million passengers. To 4.5 million tons annually by 2030.
