Today, the Municipality of Medina inaugurated the King Abdulaziz Road Bridge intersecting with King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Road in the region, as part of its plans to improve traffic movement at one of the most important vital intersections in Medina, and to contribute to enhancing the smoothness of the road.
The Secretariat stated that the project includes two bridges at the top of King Abdullah Road, and the number of its main lanes is three lanes for each direction in addition to a frequency bus lane for each direction, noting that in order to complete the project, it has implemented more than 30,000 cubic meters of reinforced concrete, and 9,000 One ton of rebar, more than 450 tons of prestressed iron, in addition to 4,200 flat meters of reinforced soil walls covered with natural city stone, with an area of 1,650 flat metres, and 3,000 meters of concrete barriers.
She added that 4 service crossings with a length of more than 120 meters were installed under the bridge’s views and houses, with a target of 7,750 flat meters of hardscape made of granite, basalt, and natural stone, and more than 2,700 flat meters of soil were planted for agriculture, with more than 3,000 plants planted among trees, shrubs, and grasses. Installing 36 lighting poles and 112 lighting floodlights under bridges and service crossings.
The Municipality of Medina explained that the project is an important link to free up traffic at the entrance to Medina from the eastern side of Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Airport and the Haramain Train Station, all the way to the Prophet’s Mosque.
